Information for participants coming to the PD in Michigan:

  • The workshop is being held at the Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) in Hickory Corners. For maps of the area and KBS grounds, check out their website here.

  • It will take place on July 10-11th in the Auditorium (Room 312) on the 3rd floor of the Academic Building (#1 on the map, yellow star).
  • For a copy of the Agenda, click here. Please arrive at the Auditorium by 8:30am each day. We will serve light breakfast and coffee in the room, and formally begin at 9am. Lunch will be at the McCrary Dining Hall, and an afternoon snack will be served back in the Auditorium. Dinner will be on your own, but McCrary will serve dinner and there are additional local options we can share with you as we wrap up each day around 4:30pm.
  • Lodging: If you are staying overnight in KBS housing, please pick up your keys from the McCrary Dining Hall (#9, orange star). When you enter the building, there are cubbies to your left and the keys and dorm assignments will be listed on the envelopes with your name. You can pick up your keys before the PD at any time. All teachers staying at KBS overnight will be in the Orchard Dorm Suites (#10, red star). Linens will be provided, including towels, pillows, and sheets. Bring with you any toiletries that you will need while you are here.
  • Parking: if you are staying in the Orchard Dorm Suites you will want to park in the associated parking lot, with access off of E Gull Lake Dr.  If you are not staying overnight, park by McCrary. See blue circles on map to the right and dotted black lines for walking paths to the Academic Building (location of workshop).
  • Please let us know if you have any physical limitations and we can help you navigate KBS.

  • It will take place on July 20-21st.

Lunch will be served in the room and dinner will be on your own. We can give you some local suggestions when we wrap up each day around 4:30pm.
